Soong Kee Beef Noodle

Ok, so this week we headed out to the old part of the Kuala Lumpur and sniff out this beef noodle shop, we always took bus and pass by this beef noodle shop and is always packed with people from evening till night, and today we have the chance to try out this "packed shop".

As you can see, the price is all stated at the board and there's no extra govt charge and service tax, I think the price is reasonably priced.

For normal eater, a small bowl of beef noodle will be suffice for you to fill up your hungry stomach.

We ordered a small dry beef noodle, it may looks like Wan Tan Mee but tastes otherwise. The minced meat you saw at the above picture is not too salty when mix with the noodle and is actually very nice to eat. But the noodle is too soggy and actually clump together when it was serve to us. (Wonder did they had already precooked the noodle and serve up when we order, because it was so fast when it was served up.)

After it was mixed and stir, we dug in to the noodle. And to over disappointment, it does not taste as good as we had imagined. Mainly due to the soggy noodle.

The bowl of soup comes with the noodle, it contain the inner organ of the cow and with a couple of meatballs to roundup this clear soup. The above beef when cook with the soup, it is very soft not tender. It just break into million of pieces after we put in our mouth, not to my preference but maybe it suits you.

This is the stomach lining of the cow, this taste superb as it is chewy and does not have any weird organ taste to it. Overall, the soup is clear and not too salty and is a great compliment to the noodle.

This is the whole set of our beef dry noodle. As for the chili, it is actually quite spicy for our taste and it spoiled the overall taste of the meal. We spend RM6 for this meal including 2 Chinese tea, highly recommended for budget meal lover.

Location is at the map shown within this post, is better that you take public transport to reach the shop as we do not saw any parking nearby.
This shop is open Monday to Saturday from 11am to 12am, meal time is always packed with people sitting inside and outside the shop.

Taste 3/5
Worthiness 4/5
Location 4/5

Pudu clay pot Chicken Rice

This clay pot chicken rice is located at same row with UOB bank pudu and opposite of pudu Maybank. The exact GPS location is 3.135816,101.712337, you may enter this and find it in Google map.

We went there by taking Ampang line LRT and alighted at Pudu station, and walk a small distance to reach this shop lot. The chicken rice still uses the good old fashion charcoal to cook the rice! The whole process is cook by using charcoal, even the rice is not precooked in rice cooker like many places nowadays.

The rice is a little bit hard but their chicken is very tender and juicy. It is not stiff and dry, which is a show of skill of the boss using charcoal to cook up such a chicken. When you order, you can choose not to add in the salty fish, but is highly recommend that you add in, it will level up the flavor a lot more~~ a strange thing is that this chicken rice does not have that much of crunchy rice at the bottom of the pot, (if you know what I mean) even thou they uses charcoal to cook the rice

This is the boss in action cooking the rice (sorry for the poor quality, took it from faraway), from here, I can only see 6 stove and it takes us about 20 minutes for the rice to serve up to us. If you are hungry, go early.

Definitely a must try for clay pot chicken rice lover.. Yummy~

If you have a better clay pot chicken rice, write it down below and share it with others.. sharing is caring.. Until next time.. Have a nice day everyone. Happy food hunting, see you..

Ho Ho Steamboat

This steamboat outlet is the fifth of its own, it is located across road from Danau Kota, Columbia Hospital. No. 98, Off Jalan Genting Klang, Taman Danau Kota, 53200 Kuala Lumpur, this is their address.

Their steamboat come with two kind of soup base, the original soup broth or tom yam soup. Price is RM31 for original and RM33 for Tom Yam, price is for 2 person. You can order mix soup too, but the price will be RM33, not recommended unless you cannot live without Tom Yam. Their original soup is better than Tom Yam.

This is their menu for the steamboat and also additional item that you may want to order and add on.

We reached there around 7pm, by that time, the shop is already half filled with people. It is advisable you food lovers go there early to avoid having to wait for table. This shop will be packed with people around 7.30pm to 7.45pm, go there early to avoid the waiting. Waited around 10min after order, here comes our steamboat ingredients....

Seems little? But it will definitely fill up your stomach if you are an average eater, because of the yee mee they provide, that will definitely fill everyone's stomach. There is a tou fu in the ingredients, which is really delicious because of the juicy content in the tou fu.. I don't know what is it in it, but is definitely worth trying out for you guys.

This is the base, choose the original soup is better..

If you want to find out more on this restaurant, you can go to their website.
Overall, this restaurant did give a very good service to us but the food is only average in overall, there maybe more hidden gems of steamboat elsewhere in this planet, you have yourself a favorite steamboat restaurant that you want to recommend? Comment it below and share it with others.
